Protecting your data is all about encryption. During the backup process, your files are first encrypted on your computer using a choice of 128-bit or 256-bit AES encryption. In doing this, it ensures that encryption has taken place before the data leaves your building. Your encryption key is only known by you, it's completely private and not even CIT (UK) will know what it is. Files are transferred to our data centres through a secure layer (SSL) connection, ensuring that all your files are doubly encrypted during transit.
With SquirrelArk, you'll benefit by multiple layers of security protecting your data in the cloud. We don't store your data publicly in the cloud like many backup vendors and your data remains in the UK. We only use tier 3 and tier 4 data centres with ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and PCI DSS compliancy. Our data centres employ the highest security standards including 24/7 monitoring, temperature controlled halls, redundant backup power supplies, and fire suppression systems.
